Financial Aid

PAYING FOR THE ECLI & FINANCIAL AID:

The cost of tuition to attend NVCC is covered through federal, state, and college financial aid. Students pay a nominal fee of $100 per semester to cover a portion of the cost of textbooks, access to computers, and childcare and tutoring (if needed).  

No interest loans are available to current ECLI students to cover other costs they may have, such as public transportation to and from campus.

College Fellowships of up to $1,250 are available to current ECLI students. These grants may be used for fees, transportation, or purchase of items directly related to their pursuit of a college education through the ECLI.

The Virginia Child Care Provider Scholarship Program (VCCPSP) is available for current/potential childcare program staff and intended to aid the staff in completing course work that will help them improve the quality of childcare for the children and families in their program. Staff can complete undergraduate college courses required for a certificate or degree in early childhood education and have it paid by VCCPSP. VCCPSP is funded by the federal Child Care and Development Fund that provides financial resources to improve the quality of early care and education in Virginia. VCCPSP is administered by the Virginia Department of Education.

Project Pathfinders: Project Pathfinders is a scholarship program designed to support current childcare and preschool teachers and providers, or high school students who are also enrolled in the Virginia Community College System for early childhood education coursework, with financial support to pursue credentials, certificates, and degrees through Virginia’s Community College System and select 4-year associate-to-baccalaureate degree transfer programs. It is funded through a state appropriation and administered by the Virginia Early Childhood Foundation.
